The Government has announced that volunteer activists can return to delivering leaflets and canvassing voters on doorsteps from the 8th of March.
Commenting on the Government’s announcement that volunteer activists can return to delivering leaflets and canvassing voters from the 8th of March Andy Moore, Chair of the West Berkshire and Newbury Liberal Democrats, said:
“Staying in touch with residents, listening to, and acting on, their concerns is at the heart of what Liberal Democrats believe in, but since the start of the current lockdown we have been following the advice to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives. We welcome this announcement from the Government and look forward to returning to talking to residents from the 8th of March. Over the next few months we will ensure that all our campaigning follows Government guidance, including the wearing of face masks, using hand sanitiser between doors and keeping gatherings of groups to an absolute minimum. We also understand that many people are still shielding, and so if you would rather we did not knock on your during the pandemic, please let us know by emailing [email protected].”
