Andy Moore (3rd from left above) has lived in Newbury for over 40 years with his children having attended local schools. An engineer by profession, he is retired from a career in Defence, working locally, then commuting to both London and Bristol; his roles included 12 years in nuclear safety regulation. He is experienced in running local organisations, volunteers with Newbury Street Pastors and, as trustee of a small charity, knows about supporting the disadvantaged. If elected, as he will be aiming to contribute to competent and caring administrations and always will be seeking to make our society fairer.
Martha Vickers (2nd from left above) has lived in the area for 40 years and worked as a local health visitor until 2013. Her work alerted her to the effect of poor housing and homelessness on health. She was a District councillor for nine years until 2003 and welcomes the Council’s new responsibility for public health. She joined Healthwatch in 2015 and volunteers for several local homelessness charities. She has been Town Mayor and Chair of the town council’s Community Services Committee, responsible for Victoria Park, the Charter Market, allotments and smaller parks. She is a member of West Berkshire Green Exchange Forum.
