West Berkshire Council is proposing to cut another £168,000 from specialist services currently provided for vulnerable young people.
These cuts come on top of the £253,000 cut from services to vulnerable young people last year.
The cuts proposed are to invaluable services which directly affect the mental health and wellbeing of children and adolescents in our area, including:
- help for looked-after children;
- mentoring in the community;
- support for young people leaving care;
- childcare classes;
- job clubs;
- life-skill clubs; and
- groups to support children with Special Educational Needs.
