The Local Development Plan for West Berkshire - An Event for Lib Dem Members

West Berkshire Council is reviewing its Local Development Plan (LDP) for the period to 2037. A consultation opened mid December and closes on 5th February.

Our own spokesman on planning at the Council, Cllr Dr Tony Vickers, would like to involve the wider membership in his efforts to improve the new LDP. In particular, he believes that the Covid pandemic and Climate Emergency tells us we need to go deeper – and, crucially, into rural villages – to tackle many societal problems through reducing the need to travel and using the LDP to help achieve Zero Carbon every way possible.

Your local Lib Dem Party has arranged for leading local planning spokespersons to attend – and a Parliamentary Spokesperson has been invited – because other local councils covering our North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Beauty (AONB) are now run by Lib Dems and looking at the same issues.

So put Friday 29th of January at 7pm in your diary and register your interest below.
