Tony Vickers is a retired army officer with a lifelong interest in government. He has lived in West Berkshire since 1980 and since 1995 served as a local councillor for 17 years, also completing a PhD and several funded research projects relating to planning. He is currently Vice Chair of Western Area Planning Committee and the District Council representative on the Local Access Forum, which advises public bodies in Mid & West Berkshire on matters relating to public access to the countryside. He volunteers as walk leader for a holiday company and has walked all rights of way in the area.
