New Pedestrian Crossing for Andover Road

203 of 250 signatures

Last year Wash Common councillors persuaded the Council to extend the 30mph zone on Andover Road as far as Conifer Crest. Although the signs still haven’t been moved, we are now supporting residents who feel this stretch of Andover Road needs a safe crossing point. Currently the only one is the light-controlled one by Park House School – nearly a kilometre away. The obvious place is near the bus stops at Ladwell Close & The Hollies. Not only would this benefit bus users but it would connect the east of Wash Common to the library and community centre on foot via several existing footpaths. Otherwise they have an extra 800m walk each way.

We are petitioning West Berkshire Council to support our proposals. Please sign today to help us keep Wash Common residents safe.
